Proyecto de Instalaciones

  La parcela de Europan Viena se encuentra en una area urbana muy poblada con muchos edificios residenciales; pero también en un distrito muy verde donde se encuentran grandes areas de bosque vienés.

 

Al estudiar los alrededores del lugar hemos descubierto dos tipos de estructura urbana:

• La calle histórica

• La ciudad jardín

 

Esta propuesta pretende resolver el conjunto de ambos tipo de modelo de ciudad, tomando lo mejor de cada uno de ellos: La escala urbana de la calle histórica y los espacios abiertos y verdes de la ciudad jardín.

Los objetivos principales del proyecto son:

• Restaurar la continuidad de Lainzer Strasse y Speisinger Strasse no solo de un modo visual sino que también tipologicamente y en cuanto a la movilidad. Por un lado la propuesta permite a la gente caminar o ir en bici de un lado al otro de las vias del tren  a través de una ligera pendiente (menor de 4%) evitando el uso de escaleras. Esto es posible gracias a la topografía del lugar. Por otro lado, la propuesta crea la continuidad de la tipología de calle histórica, introduciendo actividad con: instalaciones comerciales, un centro cívico, un fitness center, etc. La propuesta pretende crear un CALLE-PLAZA, integrada en una trama urbana, donde puedan encontrase la gente del distrito.

• Generar la continuidad de las areas verdes. La propuesta intenta dedicar el mayor area posible a espacios verdes.

• Integrar todos los medios de comunicación en la propia parcela. Actualmente las vias del tren son un corte en el distrito. La estación de tren es vital en la propuesta, porque intentamos reconvertirla en un conector de los elementos del distrito y del distrito con la ciudad. También relacionado con el resto de instalaciones.

• Crear un punto de referencia en el suburbio, que identificase un nuevo punto de actividad en la zona.

 

PROGRAMA

El emplazamiento ha sido dividido en tres parcelas, una al sur de las vías del tren, y las otras dos al norte, divididas por Lainzer Strasse (y el canal subterraneo).

 

La parcela noreste, la mayor de todas, contiene la mayor parte de la nueva calle. Para favorecer una mayor actividad alrededor  de  ella, dedicamos este area a los usos públicos requeridos por el programa. Las otras parcelas están dedicadas al programa de vivienda. La parte norte a complejo de vivienda para tercera edad, y la sur para las viviendas subvencionadas.

The Europan site of Vienna is a very populated urban area with many residential buildings; and also a very green district containing large areas of the Vienna Forests.

 

By studying the surroundings of the site we can discover two types of urban fabric :

• The historical Street

• The Garden City

 

This proposal expects to solve the conjunction of both city models, taking the best of them: the urban scale and activity of the historical street and the open and green spaces of the garden city. 

The main objectives of the project are:

• Restore the continuity of Lainzer Strasse and Speisinger Strasse not only in a visual way, but also in a mobility and a typological way. On one hand the proposal allows people to walk or cycle from one side to the other of the train tracks through a flat or a very gentle slope (less than 4%) avoiding the use of stairs. This is possible by the topography of the site. On the other hand, the proposal creates the continuity of the historical street´s typology, introducing activity with: commercial facilities, a civic center, a fitness center, etc. The proposal expects to create a STREET-PLAZA, integrated in the urban plot, where people of the district can meet. 

• Generate the continuity of the green areas. The proposal tries to dedicate the biggest possible area to green spaces.

• Integrate all the mobility facilities in the site. Nowadays the train tracks are a cut in the district. The train station is vital in the proposal, because we try to reconvert it into a connection element of the district and for the district with the city. Also related to the other facilities.

• Create a landmark in the suburb, that identifies a new activity point in the area. 

 

 

PROGRAM

The site has been divided in three plots, one at the south of the train tracks, and the other two at the north, divided by the Lainzer Strasse (and the underground canal).

 

The northern east plot, the biggest one, contains most of the new street. To favor a greater activity around it we dedicate this area to the public uses of the required program. The other quieter plots are dedicated to the housing program. The northern one to the Golden Age housing complex, and the southern one to the general living subsidized housing.
